DIRECT SERVICE PROJECTS
Every WHJWC member participates in a DSP. They are divided into three categories: Economic Needs, Elderly, and Children.
ECONOMIC NEEDS
Economic Needs members serve at the Wellesley Food Pantry, and participate in food and non-food drives throughout the year.
ELDERLY
Members of the Elderly Committee spend time at the Sisters of Charity retirement home.
CHILDREN
The Children's DSP works on several projects. Members work at a local women's shelter, Charles River ARC, and The Ronald McDonald House. Last year we added Kids on the Block to our Children's DSP. Members practice and perform skits for elementary aged children using puppets to portray handicapped children, encouraging acceptance of developmental differences among children.
